Funeral services for Bernice Crosby Smith, 68, of Ouachita City, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, May 16, 2012, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with J. R. Wells and Larry Bryant officiating. Interment will follow at Ouachita City Cemetery.

Mrs. Smith was born on August 2, 1943 in Monroe, LA and passed away May 13, 2012 in Ouachita City. She was owner and operator of Smith’s Café in Sterlington, LA for 26 years. Mrs. Smith was a hard worker, loving wife and mother. She was devoted to her family and loved by many people. She will be forever missed.

Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her mother, Fannie Wall; and sister, Betty Pratt.

Survivors include her husband of 52 years, Charles H. Smith of Ouachita City, LA; three sons, Randy and wife Sharon Smith of Ouachita City, Ronny and wife Terri Smith of Spencer, LA, and Matt and wife Stacy Smith, of Ouachita City; stepson, Mike Smith and wife Jo of Choudrant, LA; sister, JoAnn Cappo of Monroe, LA; nine grandchildren, Heath, Randi Rene, Whitney, Logan, DJ, Emily, Sydney, Courtney, and Chloe; five great grandchildren, Dylan, Landry, Alissa, Daylen, and Mykah; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pallbearers will be Heath Smith, Logan Smith, Stacy Cappo, Larry Bryant, Gary Blake, and Darren Balsamo.

Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Doctor’s Hospice.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.

I never met "Aunt Neecy" but I have heard so many wonderful things about her. My thoughts and prayers are with the family. I lost my mother 1 month ago and I know "Aunt Neecy" is with her.
