Funeral services for Charles G. Puckett, 77, of Sterlington, will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, October 6, 2012 in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Jarrod Hawthorne and Rev. David Worthington officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Puckett passed away Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at his residence.  He was a retired Ouachita Parish Sherriff’s Deputy and had a Christmas tree farm in Claiborne Parish for twenty-five years.  Charles was a deacon of First Baptist Church Monroe and North Monroe Baptist Church and taught 5th and 6th grade boys at both churches.  He was a member of Paron Baptist Church.

Mr. Puckett was preceded in death by his father Charlie Richard Puckett and mother Miranda Heard Puckett.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Pat Simmons Puckett of Sterlington, LA; his children, Johnny Puckett of Monroe, LA, Tommy Puckett and wife Paige of Little Rock, AR, Karen Puckett of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Christy Davis and husband Brandon, Jackson Puckett; great-grandchild, Jacob Michael Puckett; three sisters, Lael McGough, Jane Luffey and husband George, Martha Williams and husband Lonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Jackson Puckett, Brandon Davis, Charles Standifer, Raymond Gambino, Danny Martin, Don Puckett, Lonnie Williams, and Tommy Odom.  Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Agape Life Group of North Monroe Baptist Church, Roger Elkin, Morris Parker, Everett Smith, Bob Colvin, Tommy Phillips, and John Sharp.

Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 PM, Friday, October 5, 2012 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to Hospice of Caring Hearts.
