Funeral services for James Howard Payne, 70, of Choudrant, LA will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, March 2, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Michael Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow at Rocky Branch Cemetery in Rocky Branch, LA.


 


James passed away Sunday, February 28, 2010. He was a member of Rocky Branch Assembly of God Church. He was the owner of Tape City, U.S.A. for 10+ years. He sponsored and supported The Boy’s Club of America baseball teams. He also sponsored and coached men’s baseball and women’s softball teams.  He was preceded in death by his son, James Byron Payne.


 


Survivors include his wife, Alice Faye White Payne; daughters, Cheryl Walters and husband Keith, Kathy Watson and husband Mike, and Rhonda Colvin and husband Gary; son, James Scott Payne; granddaughters, Brandy Doty and husband Brian, Beth Sims and husband Wesley; Kasey Crawford and husband Jason, Jennifer Watson, Cassidy Hall and husband Heath, and Jannon Colvin; grandsons, Jacob Chris Colvin, and Jarrod Colvin; great grandsons, Zackary Sims, Dakotah Sims, Kolton Watson, and Easton Hall; one great granddaughter, Madison Barber; and  two brothers, Bobby Joe Payne and Glen Douglas Payne.


 


Pallbearers will be Mike Watson, Keith Walters, Gary Colvin, Jacob Colvin, Wesley Sims, and Heath Hall.


 


Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, March 1, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.


 


Memorials may be made to Juvenile Diabetes Association.
