Funeral services for Clifton Leon O’Neal, 86, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 10, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Rev. Lysbeth Cockrell and Rev. Juliet Spencer officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.



Mr. O’Neal was born July 29, 1923 in Swartz, LA and passed away on March 7, 2010 at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.



He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee O’Neal and Stella Farmer O’Neal; and his brother, Sidney O’Neal.



Mr. O’Neal was employed 33 years in sales with Pelican Wholesale and 17 years at the Swartz Recreation Center. Mr. O’Neal served his country in the Navy during World War II in the south pacific.



Mr. O’Neal is survived by his wife of 47 years, Glenda Bennett O’Neal; sons, Randy O’Neal and wife Lisa, and Kyle O’Neal; daughter, Kaye Lee and husband Philip; one sister, Ramona Mitchell; grandchildren, Corey and Chad Lee, and Chris and Katie O’Neal; two great grandchildren, Jace and Jared Lee; and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.



Pallbearers will be grandsons, Corey Lee, Chad Lee, and Chris O’Neal, and nephews, Bobby O’Neal, David Lehne, and Neal Hefner.



Honorary pallbearers will be George Noel, Frank Bennett, Dalton Harrell, Charles Dowdy, Bill Gimler, Conrad Ludlow, David Waller, and Jimmy Morgan.



Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Tuesday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.



Any planned memorials may be made to St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 513 Lincoln Road, Monroe, LA 71203.

Kyle and family sorry to hear about your loss Mr. Cliff was a wonderful man he always had a story to tell and if i was having a blue day he would dig out a joke or two to cheer me up!
