I read the paper each day, and it is always a shock to see the loss of a relative or friend. I met Miss Bynum when I attended Sherrouse Elementry School in 1951. When I came to class (second grade that is...)I fell in love with Miss Bynum my Teacher. She loved music so much that her love of music spilled over into my heart, and influenced my life forever. I have spent my entire life as a Church Musician. I have played at churches all over the USA. Miss Bynum asked Sissie Lofton, Wayne Bushnell, Linda Blair, and myself if we would like to sing at her Wedding at College Place. Our little quartet attended and did do an excellent job for our beloved Teacher. I will always be indebted to Miss Bynum for her wonderful ability to live, love, and be happy. She placed a song in my heart that sings even today, fifty eight years later. During my life I have told the story of my Second Grade Teacher and friend who let us sing at her Wedding. To her entire family, please accept our deepest sympathy for you mother. She changed the World from her second and third grade Classroom. Eternal Rest Grant unto her O Lord, and let the perpetual Light shine upon her. May she rest in Peace, Amen.
