A. Glenn Golson, Sr.

July 31, 1929 — January 7, 2020

A Funeral Mass Celebrating the Life of Mr. A. Glenn Golson, Sr., 90, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, January 11, 2020, at the St. Paschal Catholic Church in West Monroe, LA, with Fr. Frank Coens officiating. Interment will follow in the St. Paschal Catholic Church Cemetey in West Monroe, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Mr. Golson was born on July 31, 1929 and passed away at his residence on January 7, 2020. He is preceded in death by his parents, Almer Davis and Mattie Wilder Golson; son, John Gary Golson; grandson, Marcus Cerda; sister, Carol Golson; and brother, Charles Golson.

Glenn worked over 3 decades for Olinkraft, and when he retired made the most of life in the country, planting a garden large enough to feed his big family, plus the entire surrounding community. He was a lifelong volunteer, sharing his gifts with those around him through organizations like Habitat for Humanity and The Boy Scouts of America, or simply by helping out his neighbors. He was beyond blessed to be married to the love of his life for over 71 years and was a hero to his children and to those he served. He will be remembered for his parting wishes to all who visited him and Mom, “Peace in the Valley”.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Janet Golson; children, Glenn Golson Jr. and wife, Jodie, Terri McAshan and husband, John, Susan Monroe, Linda Cerda and partner, Karen Povenmire, Gregg Golson and wife, Barbara, Mary Bryant and husband, Barry, Molly Golson and husband, Tracy Byers, Margaret Butler and husband, Larrie, Joseph Golson and wife, Madonna, Michael Golson and wife, Beth, and Rebecca Sehnert and husband, Claude; thirty grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; sister, Nancy Aswell and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Travis McAshan, Coy Bryant, John Cerda, Paul Cerda, Timothy Smith and Kaleb Golson.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Glenn Golson Jr., Michael Golson, Gregg Golson, Joseph Golson, Dan Dexter, Charlie Cascio, Eddie Bryant and Andy Dyke.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. on Friday, January 10, 2020, at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Memorials may be made to Habitat for Humanity in Mr. Golson’s Honor.
