Services for Mr. Acie Reems, 82, of Rayville, LA will be 10 AM Monday, October 27, 2008 at Rayville First Assembly of God Church, with Rev. Marvin Downs, Rev. Curtis Harris and Rev. Milton McManus officiating, internment will follow in Provedence Memorial Cemetery near Winnsboro, LA, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Rayville, LA.
Mr. Acie was a member of Holly Ridge Assembly of God in which he served many years as a Sunday School teacher and Sunday School superintendent before it’s closing after which he attended Rayville First Assembly of God. He was a retired press operator at Rayville garment factory for 42 years. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and gardener; he just loved the outdoors. When he was young he moved to Holly Ridge and lived and worked with the McManus family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, and is survived by his wife of 61 years Lillian J. Reems of Rayville, LA; daughter Linda Nix and her husband Billy of Newnan, GA; grandsons, David Nix and his wife Jenny of Atlanta, GA, and Jason Nix and his wife Laurie of Vancouver, WA. Six plus great grandchildren, Elijah Nix, Grace Nix, Zadie Nix, Cole Nix, Oliver Nix and Tate Nix; brother Jim Collins and his wife Becky, sister Fran Collins and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Ken Deibel, Steve Lofton, Jonathan Jordan, Kayne Jesselink, Randy Collins and Jeff Collins.
Honorary pallbearers will be W. C. Stockton, Ray McManus and Roy McManus.
Visitation will be from 4-8 PM Sunday at the funeral home and 9 am until service time Monday at the Church.
