Funeral Services for Mrs. Addie Cleo Richmond Pierce, 89, of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00 PM Thursday, July 30, 2009 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA with Rev. Mark Fenn officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Calhoun, LA.

Mrs. Pierce was born April 26, 1920 and passed away on July 27, 2009. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilmer Richmond Pierce; parents, Blanche and Tom Richmond; 4 sisters, Elouise Stephens, Louise Brewer, Viva Prine, Aletha Reid; and 1 brother, Bud Richmond.

Survivors include her daughters, Barbara McCandlish and husband Tom of Calhoun, Faye Patterson and husband Jim of Winston-Salem, NC and Sue Jolly and husband Marc of Calhoun; six grandchildren, Tom McCandlish, Jr. and wife Mary of Monroe, John McCandlish and wife Jana of West Monroe, Karla McCoy and husband Gordon of Denham Springs, La, Chris Jolly and wife Anita of Calhoun, Mike Jolly and wife Cathy of Calhoun, Lisa Wood and husband Gregg of NC; nine great-grandsons, Conn Thomas, William Angus and Robert Edgar McCandlish, James Alexander and Benjamin Thomas McCoy, Joshua Jolly, Andy and Landon Smith, and Luke Wood; six great-granddaughters, Megan Nicole McCoy, Alexandra Marie, Abigail Ann and Emma Grace McCandlish, Addie Michaela Jolly, and Anna Wood; three sisters, Evelyn Chapman of Carriere, MS, Jean McPherson of Moultrie, GA, Glenda Watkins and husband Charles of Indianapolis, IN; one brother, Bill Richmond and wife Joye of Farmerville and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Pierce, a member of First Baptist Church of West Monroe since 1948 was active in Women’s Missionary Union and was a dedicated and loving nursery and preschool worker for over 50 years. Mrs. Pierce was faithful in her prayer life and a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and aunt. Words cannot express how very much she was loved and will be missed.

Pallbearers will be Tom McCandlish, Jr., John McCandlish, Chris Jolly, Mike Jolly, Gordon McCoy, and Greg Wood. Honorary Pallbearer will be her great nephew, Frank Woolsey.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Wednesday, July 29, 2009 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.

Donations may be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home of Monroe or First Baptist Church, West Monroe, Preschool Department.
