Funeral Services Celebrating the Life of Mr. Albert Lee Jones, 79, of Crossett, AR, will be 11:00 AM Monday, January 18, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Donnie Dubose officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.
Albert Lee Jones passed away on January 15, 2021 in Crossett, Arkansas due to complications from Covid-19. He was born on October 27, 1941 in Monroe, Louisiana to Ethela and Charlie Jones. He grew up in Monroe and graduated from Neville High School in 1959.
Al served in the United States Navy from 1960-1964. He married Rita Ozell Childers in 1966. They lived in Crossett with their son, Christopher Lee, until they moved to Texas in 1977. Al owned and operated several car businesses in the Dallas area.
Al is preceded in death by his parents, Ethel and Charlie Jones; four siblings, Lorene, Charlene, Emma Jean, Sonny; and his wife of 54 years, Rita.
He is survived by his son, Chris Jones (Leslie); granddaughter, Savannah Lee Jones; two brothers, Charles Jones and Jerry Jones (Diane); and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members.
Albert “Jake” Lee Jones was a man of few words but when he did have something to say, you better be listening. It was sure to make you laugh. He had a love for LSU, his home and family.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Jones, Charles Jones, Tab Childers, Hunter Childers, Heath Childers, and Richard Childers. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kirk Strickland and Larry Weisinger .
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM Monday, January 18, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
