Annamarie Elizabeth Arnold

Funeral Services for Mrs. Annamarie Elizabeth Wirtgen Arnold, 90, of Monroe, LA, will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 29, 2020, at North Monroe Baptist Church, with Dr. Bill Dye, Rev. Warren Eckhardt, and Rev. Kenneth Clark officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery in Monroe.

Mrs. Arnold was born February 28, 1930 and went to be with her Lord and Savior on July 26, 2020, surrounded by her family. She was a member of North Monroe Baptist Church, “Windsome Life Group”. Mrs. Arnold enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and feeding birds. She was a long-time child-care worker at the church. Mrs. Arnold volunteered at Christian Communities Ministries and the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Julieanna Wirtgen; two brothers, Karl Hertzhauser and Fritz Hertzhauser; husband Ira Arnold, Sr.; children, Ira Arnold, II, Garry Arnold, Michael Arnold, and Yvonne Arnold.

Survivors include children, Wayne Arnold (Susan), Marian Sweet (Edward), Julie Catlow (Thomas), Sandra Carradine (Chris), daughter-in-law, Jean Arnold; 26 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren; brother, Heiner Reckel (Renate); numerous other family members.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Tuesday, July 28, 2020, and again from 10:00 AM until the service on Wednesday, at North Monroe Baptist Church.

Memorials may be made to North Monroe Baptist Church Children’s Ministry.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Lisa Hall, who has cared for our mother and close friend, Lo Hodgkins.
