April Leanne Burnham, 35, of Calhoun, LA, passed away on May 9, 2020, in Monroe, LA, after an extended illness.
April was born in Bastrop, LA, she resided in Ouachita Parish most of her life. April worked as a universal banker for many years before returning to her trade as a phlebotomist which she thoroughly enjoyed. April also enjoyed crafts, baking and spending time with her family and friends. She especially loved snuggling with her daughter Jacee and watching a good movie.
April was preceded in death by her mother, Veronica Lynne Ellis Herrington; and her grandfather, JC “Bud” Veazey.
April is survived by her daughter, Jacee Lynne Burnham; her grandmother, Portia Gayle Veazey; aunt, Angela Gladney (Andy); and cousin, Brittany Moody (Tyler) and their daughter, Anberlyn. April is also survived by her “other” mother, Ramona Hodge Bullard (Mac).
April had a multitude of friends who were as close to her as family: Jason Burnham and fiancée Kristina Dowdy (Paxton), David & Angela Jowers (Aiden & Evan), Neil & Lindsay Sumrall (Nate & Khloe), Danyelle DeCorte Wood, Kindra Champlin, Sissy McKinney, Brandi McLain Pepper (Brian), Brooks McLain Ramroop, Catina Hammons (Jamie), and Justin Robison. These friendships were deeply cherished. There were many other family members and friends who will miss April tremendously.
Memorial services celebrating her life will be held at a future date due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an addiction recovery establishment.
