Funeral Services for Mr. Artis M. Tynes, 84, of Calhoun, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Monday, March 31, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Dub Massey and Rev. Neil Everett officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Calhoun, LA.
Mr. Tynes was born in Fisher, LA on June 26, 1923 and passed away on March 26, 2008. A Tin Smith by trade, Mr. Tynes was the Events Coordinator for the Monroe Civic Center for fourteen years. He also retired from the Louisiana Vocational Education System. Preceding him in death are his parents, Thomas Valry Tynes, Barbara Raiford Tynes Hatcher and Marion Hatcher; son, John V. Knox; brother, Travis Tynes; sister, Louise Fields; mother of his children (Tommy and Rhonda), Juanita Tynes; in-laws, Evelyn and Breard Street and Doris Tynes.
Survivors include his wife, Tressa (Pat) Tynes of Calhoun, LA; children, Tommy Tynes, Rhonda Sington and husband Ronnie both of West Monroe, LA, Kay Jones and husband, Jim of Calhoun, LA and Steven Moore and wife Darlene of Arp, TX; grandchildren, Dee Dee Whitlock and husband David, Janice Garrison and husband John, Brian Sington, Shannon Dumas and fiancé Brad Johnson, Brad Tynes, Karen Sington and fiancé Ricky Robertson, Derek Dumas and wife Kristi, Steven Lee Moore and wife Julie, Kevin Moore and Jeremy Moore; great grandchildren, Brittney, Bailey, DJ, Megan, Jordan, Kayin, Cooper, Cheyenne, Tristen, and Trentyn; sister-in-law, Betty Tynes; brother-in-law, Carl Fields; special daughter-in-law, Margaret Taylor and daughter Krystal and a host of friends, nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Staples, James Coleman, Joe Burton, David Hodges, Jack Jamerson, Bobby Panzico and Brad Johnson.
Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Sunday at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA
The family would like to give a special thank you to Mr. Tynes Caregivers, Miss Mickey Steward, Janice and Connie and also to Dr. Jacquelyn Carter for her special care.
