Barbara Joyce Reneau McKenzie

Funeral services for Barbara Joyce McKenzie, 58, of Swartz, LA, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at First Assembly of God Church in Swartz, LA with Brother Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment will follow at Loch Arbor Cemetery in Swartz. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Monday, June 28, 2021, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.

Mrs. Barbara Reneau McKenzie was born April 4, 1963, in Kansas City, Kansas, and passed away Thursday, June 24, 2021, at Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe, LA. She was the wife of Michael McKenzie, and mother to Derrick McKenzie and Miranda McKenzie. She was a very loving person who tried to help everyone. She never met anyone that she didn’t love or want to talk to. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Swartz, LA, and her strongest trait was her faith in God.

Mrs. McKenzie was preceded in death by her mother, Tressie Reneau; her father, Leon Ray Reneau; and grandmother, Rose Coleson.

Survivors include her husband, Michael McKenzie; son, Derrick McKenzie; daughter, Miranda McKenzie; son-in-law, Rory Carpenter, Jr.; grandchildren, Brooklin McKenzie, Zane McKenzie, Brycen Carpenter, Emma Carpenter; her three sisters, Linda Reneau, Paula Jones, Karen Ness; brother-in-laws, Larry Jones, David Ness; mother-in-law, Catherine McKenzie; father-in-law, Luther McKenzie; as well as several nieces, nephews, and sister-in-laws.

Pallbearers will be John Orr, Josh Stivers, Devin Weems, Nick Music, Toby Bozyone, and Rory Carpenter.
