Betty Case Halley

October 5, 1935 — August 9, 2018

Betty Case Halley, born October 5, 1935, in Monroe, LA, went to be with our Lord and Savior August 9, 2018. Mrs. Halley was preceded in death by her parents, Laverne and M C Case; her husband, Tony Jack Halley; and grandson, Zachary Andrew Spence.

She is survived by two daughters, Toni Dianne Moore and husband David of Start, LA, and Gina Rene’ Spence and husband Randy of Monroe, LA; four grandchildren, Chad Moulder, Randi Spence Frazier and husband Cash, Kyle Moore and wife Kaylee and T. J. Spence; loving sister, Rita Halley Dougherty; and a host of loving great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Mrs. Halley was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, friend, and teacher! She was happiest when surrounded by her family. She spent many years as a sixth-grade school teacher at Swartz Elementary, where she touched many lives and was revered by many as their all-time favorite teacher! After raising her family and retiring from the school system, she was fortunate enough to travel the world to exotic places with the love of her life, Tony, and always had glorious tales to tell! In her spare time, she could be found frequenting the mall with friends or with the grandchildren and great-grandchildren making sure they knew their lessons and their manners! Although she was retired, she was always a teacher. She will be missed on this earth and forever in our hearts.

Funeral services celebrating her life will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, LA, with Rev. Ben Hackler officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Pallbearers will be David Moore, Randy Spence, Chad Moulder, Kyle Moore, T. J. Spence, and Cash Frazier.

Visitation will be from 12:30 PM until service time Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Memorials may be made to Pilots for Patients in Monroe, LA.

The family would like to give special thanks to the administrators and staff at Stoney Brook for the loving care they gave our mother.
