Mrs. Cascille Lois Howze Smith Osbon died peacefully in the care of her loving family on March 28 following a brief illness.
 
Services celebrating the life of Mrs. Osbon will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, March 30 at Mulhearn Funeral Home - 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe LA under the direction of Reverend Cal Adams. Graveside services will follow at Hasley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM on Sunday, March 29 at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
 
Cascille was born February 15, 1921 to Omie Bacon & John Allen Howze in West Monroe, LA and had just recently celebrated her 88th birthday with all of her family in attendance. She was previously employed at Morehouse General Hospital & the office of Dr. Flood Garrett. After retirement she & her husband loved to travel and made several trips abroad. She loved Cherry Ridge Baptist Church, Bastrop LA, where she was an active member of the Ladies 4 Sunday School Class and was a faithful member for more than 24 years. She was also Worthy Matron of the Sunny South Chapter of Eastern Star in 1983 receiving her 25-year certificate in 2004.
 
“Cat” as she was fondly known by those closest to her loved to read, play cards, work crossword puzzles, and send cards to beloved friends and family. She was an avid bargain shopper and enjoyed cooking for her children on Fridays in recent years. She also delighted in giving gifts & treats to her family, church friends, the Ladies at the library and her card-playing buddies.
 
Cascille was preceded in death by her first husband James (Hawk) Smith, her brothers; John Howze, Didymus (Blackie) Howze, Odis Howze and sisters; Emma Brown, Minnie Panzico,and Florence Parker and great grand-daughter Haileigh Martin.
 
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 54 years; Edgar N Osbon of Bastrop, LA, her son; Jim Smith and his wife, Ann, West Monroe, LA and daughters; Dolores (Dolly) Smith, West Monroe, LA & Yvonne Drummond and her husband James, of Monroe, LA, her brother Marvin Howze & wife Mae of Lafayette, LA. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren & one great great grandson.
 
The family would like to express their gratitude & prayers to her family doctor, Robert Lyon, MD for his attentive and compassionate care for over 25 years. They would also like to thank the excellent staff of Premier Hospice for their expertise and kindness over the Last several months. They made her Last days as comfortable and peaceful as possible while helping the family navigate this difficult journey with great compassion.
 
Honoring Mrs. Osbon as pallbearers are: Laris Breaux, Keith Martin, Greg Smith, Charles Smith, Jeff Williams, Eddie Nugent, Scottie Nugent, and Kenny Drummond.
