Funeral services for Mr. Cecil J. Stevens, 83, of Monroe, will be at 2:00 PM Friday, November 23, 2007, at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Joe Solomon and Rev. Weldon Bares officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

Mr. Stevens passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a member of Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church. He retired in 1986 as Chief Deputy for the Ouachita Parish Sherriff’s office. He was in Army Intelligence and retired from the military after serving in three wars, WWII, Korean conflict, and Vietnam War. Cecil was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.

Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Sue Stevens and his children, Hope Carroll and husband Bob of York, PA, Sharon Stevens of Monroe, LA, Toni Collins of Monroe, LA, and Jay Stevens of Mobile, AL; grandchildren, Jenni Carroll, Brad Carroll and wife Dawn, Payne Collins, and Brody Stevens; one great grandson, Harris Carroll; and sister, Betty Blair of Memphis, TN.

Pallbearers will be Jay Stevens, Brad Carroll, Payne Collins, Ray Cook, Layon Godwin, and Tim Hardin. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Carroll and Brody Stevens.

Visitation will be Friday from 12:00 PM until 2:00 PM service time at Lea Joyner Memorial United Methodist Church.
