Charles “Chuck” Archibald

July 5, 1967 — October 19, 2018

Charles Clark Archibald, 51, of Sterlington, passed away on October 19, 2018, in Monroe, LA. Our community lost an amazing person and servant leader, who touched many hearts. Chuck was well admired by others and was a “mountain of a man” who lived every day with a charismatic smile on his face. He was one of the good guys, never met a stranger, and treated all with dignity and respect.

Chuck was born July 5, 1967, in Monroe, LA, where he lived his early years. Chuck’s family relocated to Rayville in 1980 where he graduated from Riverfield Academy in 1985. While in high school, Chuck served on the student council and was active in many sports. He was an all-star baseball player and amazing basketball player. Chuck then attended Northeast Louisiana University where he studied business and was the Vice President of the Eta Omicron Chapter of the Pi Kappa Alpha Fraternity.

Chuck cared deeply for others and had a lifetime of service. He served our nation as a Sergeant in the US Army National Guard, honorably discharged in 1992. His service then continued in our local community where he served as a Reserve Commissioned Special Agent with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries for several years. Most recently, Chuck led the Morehouse Parish Sheriff’s Department Reserve Unit as a Commissioned Deputy with the rank of lieutenant. Chuck was also a Commissioned Deputy Sheriff in Richland Parish.

Chuck’s private career spanned several industries including finance, insurance and most recently agriculture where he worked at South-Ark Equipment in Rayville for the past seven years. Chuck was also the past president of the Monroe Rotary Club, where he was continuously recognized for his leadership.

Chuck is survived by his mother, Judy Archibald; father, Charles J. Archibald; stepmother, Jean Archibald; brother, Keith Archibald; sister-in-law, Krista Archibald; nephew, Matthew Archibald; niece, Mackenzie Archibald; aunt, Linda Abraham and uncle, Richard Abraham; aunt, Kathy Clark-Dickens and uncle, John Van Dickens; and many cousins and dear friends.
