Charles (Chuck) Venyon Dupree, Sr.

June 29, 1931 — September 21, 2018

Funeral services for Mr. Charles (Chuck) Venyon Dupree, Sr., age 87, of Swartz, LA, will be 3:00 PM Saturday, September 22, 2018, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Charles Venyon Dupree, Jr. officiating. His internment will be at Loch Arbor Baptist Church Cemetery, Hwy 139, Monroe. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.

Chuck was born June 29, 1931, in Alexandria, Louisiana, and went to be with his Lord and Savior in the early morning hours of September 21, 2018. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Swartz. He loved being outdoors, mowing and taking care of his yard and plants and watching nature. He also could draw amazing pictures of nature. He retired from Columbian Chemicals Company, located in Swartz, in May of 1995. He faithfully served his country in the Army and went to battle during the Korean War. He ended his military career as a Sergeant and was awarded 3 Bronze Service Stars, United Nations Defense Medal, Korean Service Medal, and 2 Over Seas Bars.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Moore Dupree and Thelma Mayeaux Dupree; brother, Carl Duprey; and granddaughter, Alyssa Neitz.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Jane Buckley Dupree; three children, Charles V. Dupree, Jr. and wife Kim, Debbie Mullins and husband Todd, Darrell Dupree and wife Shannon; five grandchildren, David Dupree, Amy Dupree Friery, Jennifer Neitz, Deborah Neitz Wood, Joseph Neitz III, and step-granddaughter, Josie Mullins; eight great-grandchildren, Cooper Dupree, Rocco Dupree, Elliana Dupree, Micah Friery, Colby Neitz, Layne Cowart, Nixon Wood, and Joseph Neitz IV; also, many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Darrell Dupree, David Dupree, Danny Duprey, Dean Friery, Todd Mullins, and Joseph Neitz.

A special thank you to Ouachita Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center nurses and CNAs for their tender loving care.
