Funeral services for Charles Webster Platt, 76, of Monroe, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, July 28, 2015, in the Chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Bruce Rux officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.Mr. Platt died Friday, July 24, 2015, at St. Francis Medical Center. He was a Master Mason of the Western Star Lodge, #24, and a charter member of Barak Shrine, Scottish Rite and a member of Graceminster Presbyterian Church. Mr. Platt was a retired field engineer for National Cash Register Corporation.Mr. Platt was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Platt Davis; sister, Priscilla Platt Cotter; and grandsons, Jedidiah Platt and Michael Schaitel.Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Jenny Henderson Platt; children, Charles Webster Platt Jr. and wife Vicky, Rory Platt, and Cindy Schaitel and husband Phillip; grandchildren, Adam Smith, Emily McGlaughn, Mandy Boutte, Hannah Schaitel, Jenny Valek, Blake Dalrymple and Sara Dalrymple; great grandchildren, Levi Platt McGlaughn, Chloe, Abbie, and Michaela Valek; and numerous nieces and nephews.Pallbearers will be Lane Richardson, Phillip Schaitel, Adam Smith, Trevor Boutte, Danny Trichel and Al Dickson.
