Coy Skip Boyd, Jr.

Funeral Services for Coy A. “Skip” Boyd, Jr., 76, of Downsville, LA will be held at 11:00AM Saturday, July 31, 2021 at Crestview Baptist Church, Farmerville with Rev. Wayne Whiteside officiating. Interment will follow in the Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
Skip was born on June 30, 1945 in Monroe, LA and passed away on July 26, 2021 in Downsville, LA. Skip was a devoted Christian who worked continuously for the Lord. He was an avid duck hunter and loved fishing. Skip adored his wife of 34 years and loved his family to the bitter end. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War. Skip was a member of the VFW, NRA, and the American Legion. He is preceded in death by his wife, Paulette Boyd; grandson, Danny Kyle Wright; and father, Coy A. Boyd, Sr.; two sisters and four brothers.
Survivors include his daughters, Shelia Boyd and fiancée Zach Pearsall, Michelle Gascon and husband, Guillermo, and Kerry Boyd; sister, Debbie Boyd Rankin and husband Ronald; grandchildren, Gene, Heather, and Charles Boyd, Taylor Wright, Elaine and Adriel Gascon, Michael and Andrew Boyd; 5 great-grandchildren; special niece, Salina Elmore and nephew, James Searcy; special sister-in-law, Phyliss (Haven) Fern; and a host of special-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and extended family and very special friends.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Worley, Bill Chappell, Allen Hyde, James Searcy, Andrew Boyd, and Michael Boyd.
Visitation will be held from 9:00AM until service time at the church on Saturday.
Memorials may be made to Shriners, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home.
