Dr. Robert Daniel Gilbert, 63, of West Monroe aka Danny, Danny Boy, Doc by his loved ones, passed away two days after his 63rd birthday on Tuesday, October 17, 2017 in West Monroe, LA.
He was born October 15, 1954 to William and Otta (Baker) Gilbert in Oak Ridge, TN. He enjoyed Science, Medicine, Teaching, Reading, Music, Hunting, Fishing, but most importantly spending time with his family and friends in conversation.
Survivors include his son, John David Gilbert; daughter, Erin Lynn Turner and husband Joel; two grandchildren, Morgan and Patrick; sister, Joyce Sharp and husband Walter; two brothers, James Gilbert and wife Evelyn, and Matt Gilbert and wife Anne; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.
A time of gathering will be held on Sunday, October 22, 11:00 AM at 627 Lakeshore Drive, Monroe, LA.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude hospital.
Family and friends are welcomed to come celebrate Danny’s life.
