David Scott Fryday

Graveside services for David Scott Fryday, 68, of Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2020, at the Ouachita City Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home on Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.

David was born July 3, 1952 in Lake Village, AR and passed from this earth on Wednesday, October 21, 2020, after a brief illness at St. Francis Medical Center. Dave, as he was known to family and friends served in the United States Navy from July 1971 to June 1977. He was retired from Scott Truck and Tractor after 34 years of service and was especially fond of his many co-workers.

Dave was an avid sports fan, having played baseball and basketball at Kilbourne High School. He was extremely adept at sports trivia and loved his Texas Rangers baseball team. Dave had one of the sweetest personalities and was a beautiful person to be around. One of his favorite pastimes was sitting on the back porch and talking with his family and friends.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents, Alvord C. Fryday and Beatrice Hayden Fryday of Kilbourne, LA.

Survivors include his life partner, Gayle Malone of Monroe; brother, Brian Fryday and wife, Vicki of Eagle Mountain, UT; three nieces, Jana Fryday, Amelia Ames, and Sarah McCullers (John); nephew, Andrew Fryday; special cousins, Candy, Bubba, and Julie of AR; bonus family, Tracy Day (Terry), and Tana Burroughs; numerous great nieces and nephews, special I-Pad buddy, Iris Marble. Dave also leaves behind his precious fur babies, Fancy and Scruffy.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Northeast Louisiana Food Bank.
