Dorothy Fudger Bassett went to be with the Lord, July 22, 2015. Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 2:00 PM followed by a reception at Covenant Presbyterian Church 1901 Milton Street with Rev. John Mabray officiating. Dot is survived by her daughter, Stacey Young and her husband Mike of San Marcos, CA; son Jay Bassett and his wife Tara of St. Augustine, FL; grandchildren, Jared and Madeline Bassett; Brittany and Carly Broz; and two nephews, Joe Bailey Grant and Tommy Grant. Dot was married to Jerry S. Bassett for 38 years and proceeded her in death on March 23, 1992. Her Mother Virgia Bennett, Father Bruce Fudger and Sister Alma Lucy Manson all proceeded her in death.A proud Alumna of Lee High School, Jacksonville, FL and Converse College, Spartanburg, SCHer love for the arts was evidenced in her volunteerism and involvement in numerous organizations including the Masur Museum, her past roles of President of the Friends of the Civic Center Theatre, The Monroe Beautification, the Monroe Garden Club and one of the founders of the Monroe Garden Study League.
