Funeral Services for Mrs. Dorothy J. Taylor, 90, of West Monroe, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, April 1, 2010 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA with Rev. Waymond Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Methodist Church Cemetery in Eros, LA.

Mrs. Taylor was born on June 30, 1919 and passed away at the Landmark Nursing Home on March 28, 2010. She was a member of the Fairpark Baptist Church, and lifetime member of the River Cities Humane Society for cats. Mrs. Taylor was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America. She started her career with South Central Bell in 1942, as an operator, and retired as chief operator with 40 years of service. Mrs. Taylor was also a member of the Glenwood Auxiliary. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Polly Taylor; sister, Joyce T. Smith and brother, J.B. Taylor.

Survivors include her nephews, James S. Taylor, Benny B. Taylor and wife, Annette and their daughter, Debra Taylor and Don Wheelis and wife, Peggy and their sons, Lee and Brandon Wheelis.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Mulhearn Funeral Home West Monroe, LA.

Pallbearers will be Darris Waren, Joe Rodgers, George Abbott, H.A. Head, Steve Walker, and Ken Cheek.

Memorials may be made to the Fair Park Baptist Church Building Fund or the River Cities Humane Society for cats.
