Edleen Gunn Marczak

A memorial service for Edleen Elizabeth Gunn Marczak, will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 13, 2018, at Gilbert First Baptist Church with Bro. Bubba Ezell officiating. Services are under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Winnsboro.

Mrs. Marczak died July 10, 2018, in Fort Wayne, Ind. She was the daughter of Bernard and Catherine Ware Gunn, born Jan. 29,1924, in Starkville, Miss.

She lived most of her life in Gilbert where she was a teacher, counselor and lifetime member of the First Baptist Church. She graduated from Louisiana State Normal College with an A.B. degree in music and from Louisiana State University with a M.S. in education. She was very a proud member of the National Society Colonial Dames XVII Century, a member of the Omega chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma and Epsilon State President from 1975-1977 and a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She supported the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home and other ministries. She was active in Franklin Parish civic and patriotic projects.

She moved to Indiana in 2009, and attended Westview Christian Missionary Alliance Church. She loved to meet people, read books, travel internationally and go out to eat.

She leaves behind her son Andy (Serena) Marczak; her grandsons: Christopher (Kili) Marczak of California; Michael (Suzanne) Marczak of California; Michael (Brooke) Garwood of Tennessee; Travis Garwood of Indiana; and granddaughter Sasha (Jammie) Mosser of Michigan. She has 10 great-grandchildren: Evan, Zoey, Jovie, Chloe, and Sofi of California; Eva and Lilah in Michigan; and Gianna, Jillian, and Christina of Tennessee; as well as a multitude of dear friends across the states.

Donations in her name can be made to Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home or Suzuki Academy of Kalamazoo, Michigan.
