Edward Lawrence Ewbank

May 12, 1932 — January 1, 2021

Edward Lawrence Ewbank was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. His life was filled with not only providing for his family but also being a devoted friend and philanthropist. Through his efforts in business and charity work, many had opportunities in education and employment. One of the many things he did was host golf tournaments to fund scholarships at La Tech through the American Petroleum Institute.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Maunde Lawrence Ewbank and Lula Beatrice DeWil Ewbank; his brother, Frank Ray Ewbank; two sisters, Margaret Elizabeth Ennis and Brenda Joyce Santos Fernadez; and two daughters, Margaret Ann Ewbank and Carol Ann Breard.

Ed is survived by his wife, Nancy Louise Day Ewbank; his sister, Amy Lou Mahoney; his children and their spouses, Greg and Wendi Ewbank, Linda and Steve Antley, and Judy and Stephen Paris; grandsons, Ricker Breard (Erin), Garrett Breard, Philip Ewbank (Susan), Patrick Ewbank (Kristen), Nicholas Ewbank, Christopher Paris, and Jason Paris; granddaughters, Ashtyn Barrett (Josh) and Ashley Antley (fiancé Derek Davis); great grandchildren, Briar Barrett, Ricker Wright Breard, and Penelope Judith Ewbank.

Pallbearers are his seven grandsons.

Special thanks to caregivers Gwen Gatlin and Toni McCormick.

Ed grew up in the Masonic Home for Children in Alexandria, Louisiana, which has since closed. The family request, that in lieu of flowers, please send donations to The Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, Louisiana.
