Graveside services celebrating the life of Mrs. Elva Dean Hendricks Berry, 86, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, December 23, 2020, at the Hasley Cemetery Memorial Pavilion with Rev. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow in Hasley Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA. The family asks that everyone wear masks and practice social distancing.
Mrs. Berry was born June 7, 1934 and passed away December 20, 2020. She was a member of McClendon Baptist Church in West Monroe, LA.
Mrs. Berry was an exceptional wife, devoted mother, nurturing Mamaw and aunt. She cherished her family. From her brothers to her nieces and nephews to her grandchildren, she spent most of her life taking care of others. She wanted everyone to feel welcome and loved.
She was known for her cooking. Sunday lunches, fried chicken, dumplings, rice and gravy, and always a dessert were just a few favorites from those who loved her. Mrs. Berry lived her life serving others and will be deeply missed.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Edgar Hudson (Ned) Berry; her parents, Lyman Curry and Elvie Black Hendricks; and her brothers, Prentiss and wife Jean, Dale Hendricks, Wayne Hendricks.
She is survived by daughters, Kay Wallace and husband Steve, Sandra Lawson and husband Tommy; grandchildren, Melissa Smith, Bryan Aycock, Amanda Lee, Justin and Evan Lawson; great-grandchildren, Devin and Avery Bounds, Addison and Anniston Lee; sisters-in-law, Sarah Grant, Mary Jo Hendricks, and Violet Berry, brother-in-law, Joe Berry and wife Lillian Ann, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
