Funeral services for Era Yvonne “Mamaw” Hegwood, 76, of Monroe, will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in Monroe, Louisiana with Rev. Gerald Lewis officiating. Interment to follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Mamaw passed from this earth Friday, August 21, 2015 peacefully at her home, with her primary caregivers being her granddaughters Amanda McMullen and Courtney Elee. With their attention to all details and love, they met Mamaw’s every need and want. Mamaw worked at Tom Sanders Building Mart for many years and later retired as Human Resource Director from Lowe’s Home Improvement. Mamaw was best known for loving her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and many others who she adopted as part of her family. Mamaw loved to spend vacations with her family, travel the world visiting Italy, France and everywhere in between. Always looking for the best for her and her family, she lived by the golden rule of,”It only takes a little more to go first class.” She hosted her own cooking show, “Mixing it Up with Mamaw,” where she enjoyed recording her shows for all that loved to watch. Mamaw is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Allen Hegwood, Sr. her parents, Norman and Lucy Huckabee and brother LaVell Huckabee. She is survived by daughter Denise McMullen and husband Artie, son Jim Hegwood, Jr. and wife Renee, daughter Elizabeth Benefield and husband Raymond, Sr. Brother, Jerry Huckabee. Grandchildren, Amanda McMullen, Whit McMullen and his wife Ginny, Jimbo Hegwood III and his wife Danielle, Charlie Hegwood and Courtney Elee, Raymond Benefield, Jr. and David Benefield and his wife Molly. Great grandchildren Brooklyn and Beaux Hegwood, IV and Gracie Elee. Sweet little cat and friend, Miss Jackson. Pallbearers will be her grandsons Jimbo Hegwood III, Whit McMullen, Raymond Benefield Jr. Charlie Hegwood, David Benefield and brother Jerry Huckabee. Visitation will be Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 5-7pm at Mulhearn Funeral Home.Memorials may be made to Silver Waters Girl Scout Council of America.
