Graveside services for Mrs. Evelynne Kay Ethridge Morgan, 86, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 1, 2021, at Riverview Cemetery in Monroe, LA, with Rev. R.B. Moore officiating.
Mrs. Morgan was born November 23, 1934, in Monroe, LA, and passed away Thursday, June 3, 2021, at The Gardens at Georgia Tucker assisted living. She enjoyed needlepoint, painting and dining at her favorite restaurants, Trio’s, Lea’s and The Waffle House. She and her husband together owned and operated the radio station KMBS-AM, and enjoyed many friendships made in the Monroe-West Monroe community.
Mrs. Morgan was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Gilbert Morgan; her parents, William Lynton Ethridge, Jr. and Evelynne Gatlin Ethridge; and two sisters, Lynne Ethridge Young and Bonnie Ethridge Patrick.
Survivors include her son, Dr. Charles Morgan and wife, Margo; daughter, Carolynn Collier; grandchildren, Lauren Seegers Erwin and husband, Will of Monroe, LA; Erin Morgan Powell and husband, Tim of Tulsa, OK; Rachel Morgan Armstrong and husband, Les of San Antonio, Tx; great grandchildren, Reagan Elizabeth Erwin, William Joseph Erwin, IV, Marion Grace “Gracie” Powell, Molly Lynn Powell, Ada Morgan Armstrong; and special niece, Deidre Denease “Dee Dee” Bolton of Alexandria, LA.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks and recognition to Wanda Tipitt, Venesia Tippitt and Tonya Handy for the excellent care they provided to their mother as well as the nurses and staff of Compassus Hospice and Palliative Care.
