Funeral services celebrating the life of Florence Reynolds Leath, 91, will be held Thursday, January 11, 2018, 11:00 AM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, LA. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Florence was born on April 16, 1926, in Monroe, LA, and went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2018, in Monroe, LA. She was the Office Manager for Monroe Surgery Clinic for 30 years. Upon her retirement, she continued her interest in the medical field by volunteering at North Monroe Community Hospital for many years. Florence was an active member of Lea Joyner Methodist Church and cherished the hours that she was able to check on and care for others.
Florence was devoted to our family. She was proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as evidenced in the untold hours spent attending their school, church, and sporting activities. She showed each of us what boundless love and kindness means and how to treat others as you would want others to treat you. Grandma Florence has left us with some beautiful and fun memories from playing basketball and jumping on the trampoline with the grands to sharing stories, feeding and watching her birds, fishing, and watching the bayou out her window with an ever-present cup of coffee in her hand.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.E. “Gebe” Leath; parents, Mr. Walter and Mrs. Elizabeth Reynolds; and her sisters, Inez McCoy Loper, Natalie Lusk Camors, and Beryl Lusk.
Florence is survived by her sons, Mark Leath and wife Marsha, and David Leath and wife Jill; daughter, Leslie Leath Fogger and husband Danny; grandsons, Steven Leath, Scott Dickerson and wife Stacy; granddaughters, Lori Leath Austin and husband John, Kelli Dickerson Todd, Kristi Dickerson O’Dell and husband Brian, Lauren Leath Rubino and husband Jonathan, and Kasey Leath Campbell and husband Justin; great grandsons, Daniel Austin and wife Erin; great granddaughter, Shelby Leath, great grandson, Cannon Leath, and their mother Cindy Leath; great grandsons, Blake Dickerson and wife Jasmine, Christian Todd, Kaiden O’Dell, and Kocy O’Dell; great granddaughters, Meghan Austin Magee and husband Jonathan, Elizabeth Austin and fiancé Chad Porter, Maddy Salsbury, and Kendal O’Dell; special nephew, Johnny McCoy; and special friend, Jay Eppinette.
Pallbearers will be Steven Leath, Scott Dickerson, John Austin, Brian O’Dell, Jonathan Rubino, and Johnny McCoy. Honorary pallbearer will be Jay Eppinette.
