Graveside services for Miss Francis Louise Yeldell, 67, of Monroe, were held at 4:00 PM Friday, June 26, 2009, at Hasley Cemetery in West Monroe, LA with Rev. JoAnn Cooper officiating.  A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 30, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, 3900 Loop Road, Monroe, with Rev. JoAnn Cooper officiating.
 
Miss Yeldell passed away Thursday, June 25, 2009, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, after a lengthy illness. Miss Yeldell was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Methodist Women’s Circle. A longtime supporter of the arts, the retired educator was a member of the Monroe Pilot Club and the North Louisiana Herb Society. She was an early supporter of children’s theatre. She also appeared in numerous plays at the Monroe Little Theatre and at the University of Louisiana of Monroe, where she earned degrees in political science and speech. She graduated from Neville High School in 1959. Miss Yeldell worked in New Orleans as a social worker, and then taught junior high in Hendersonville, TN. before returning to Monroe to teach at Richardson Junior High School and Ouachita Parish Junior High School.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Berry and Camille Yeldell of Monroe, LA.
 
Survivors include her sister, Mary Alice Yeldell Heinz and husband Robert of Simpsonville, SC; nephew, Robert A. Heinz and wife Amanda Swanger of Hot Springs, AR; two nieces, Ashley Heinz Buzzalino and husband Javier and Berri Heinz Hicks and husband Colin, all of Simpsonville, SC; great nieces, Camryn Buzzalino and Cecilia Buzzalino, both of Simpsonville, SC; adopted son, Commander James L. Dickens and wife Beth of Denton, TX; her beloved Alexandra Louise Bryant of Monroe; and her longtime friend and caregiver, Mrs. Eula Mae Beard of Monroe.  

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the Education Fund for Alexandra Louise Bryant at Capitol One Bank on North 18th Street in Monroe, LA.
