Funeral services for Fred J. Dean, 80, of Sterlington, will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 18, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe with Bro. Clarence Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mr. Dean passed away Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Christus St. Joseph’s Home. He was a member of Fairbanks Baptist Church. Mr. Dean retired as a supervisor for Mid Louisiana Gas Co. and served in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict where he received the Bronze Star.
Mr. Dean was preceded in death by his wife, Iris B. Dean.
Survivors include his sons, Dennis Dean and wife Becky, and Dale Dean and wife Janice Kay; daughter, Dixie York and husband Jim; eleven grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Stevie Pace, Virgil Brantley, Stacey Savage, Paul Rowe, Tush Spence, and B. B. Spence.
Visitation will be Friday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to Fairbanks Baptist Church.
