Funeral services for Genevia Brockwell Ransom, 77, formerly of Rayville, LA, will be held at 3:30 PM, Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 623 Hwy 80 E, Monroe, LA, with Rev. Craig James officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Ms. Ransom was born on July 9, 1940 and passed away on January 3, 2018.
Ms. Ransom was preceded in death by her parents: father, Irwin Brockwell and mother, Maggie Kelley Jones; brothers, Carlon Brockwell, James Brockwell and Ricky Sanders; and sister, Wanda Downs.
Survivors include her 3 children, son, Barry Ransom and wife Tammy; daughters, Katrina Owen, and Kim Gore and husband Robert; sister, Patricia Sanders; sister in law, Carol Brockwell; 7 grandchildren, Adam, Genevieve, Sherwood, Valerie, Brayden, Ciara, and Cameron; 4 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Friday, January 5, 2018, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, 2308 Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA.
