Graveside Services for Ms. Gladys P. Ray, 92, of West Monroe, LA will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Kilpatrick’s Serenity Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Gordon “Skip” Dean officiating.
Ms. Gladys P. Ray was born in Natchitoches Parish on May 6, 1919 and passed away at Landmark Nursing Home on August 29, 2011. She was a business woman and a lifelong resident of West Monroe, LA. Ms. Gladys was the original owner and operator of Gladys’ Lock and Key Shop in West Monroe. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church and a member of the Annie D. Bennett Star Chapter 181 for over 50 years. Ms. Gladys is preceded in death by her husband, Sidney S. Ray; and two grandchildren, Kevin S. Ray and Todd W. Barfield.
She is survived by daughter, Beverly Rushton and husband Billy; son, Ora Don Ray and wife Shirley; six grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and a special little friend, Lucy.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 12:00 PM Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe.
