Funeral Service for Mrs. Iona Allen Storms, 94, of Monroe, LA, will be 11:30 AM Friday, November 1, 2019, at the Mulhearn Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel with Rev. Brian Mercer officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Storms was born May 13, 1925, in Booker, Texas, and passed away at St. Joseph Nursing Home on October 25, 2019. She was raised in Texas, along with her sister, Betty Jo; and brothers, Gary and Kenneth. Mrs. Storms spent most of her life maintaining a home for her husband, Clifton; and children, Darla K. and Mark. She was an active member in the Memorial Methodist Church, in both adult and children’s activities. After her children were grown, and on their way, she worked several years at Famous Fabric, where she made many new friends. She also worked alongside her husband doing property title searches. Her favorite hobby was sewing and watching “As The World Turns” on television.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifton B. “Stormy” Storms; her parents, Norman and Eileen Allen; brother, Gary Allen; and son-in-law, Robert S. Turner, Jr.

Mrs. Storms is survived by her daughter, Darla Turner Sumlin (Sonny); son, Mark Storms (Pam); five grandchildren, Brian, Katherine, Stephen, Christopher, and Sara; four great-grandchildren, Regan, Scottie, Léon and Jiah; sister, Betty Jo; brother, Kenneth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff at St. Joseph Nursing Home for their loving care of our mother for the years she was a resident and for the loving care and support they extended to us through the years.

Visitation will be from 9:30 AM until 11:00 AM Friday, November 1, 2019, at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, Louisiana.
