Funeral service for Mr. Ira Jack Lankford, 55, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00PM Sunday, June 24, 2007, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe with Rev. Ricky Baker officiating. Interment will follow in New Light Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Lankford passed away on June 20, 2007, at the Overton Brook VA Medical Center in Shreveport. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church in Monroe. Mr. Lankford was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and was a member of the Buckshot Hunting Club. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Melissa Olivia Lankford.
Survivors include his wife, Faith Dennise Lankford of Monroe, LA; daughter, Melody Rose Minier and husband Troy Scott of St. Maries, ID; two grandchildren, Ronnie Joseph and Tyler Blake Minier of St. Maries, ID; three brothers, David Steven Lankford of Huntsville, TX; Dennis Carl Lankford and wife Janet of Richlands, VA; and Terry Dale Lankford of Mobile, AL; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Sue and Royce Johnson; mother-in-law, Regina Trichell all of Monroe, LA; grandmother-in-law, Alma Rhinehart of Rayville, LA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Russell Wheat and wife Cynthia of Upland, CA; Billy Jack Trichell and wife Debra; Monte Ray Trichell and wife Lisa all of Monroe, LA; Keith Trichell and wife Ellen of Calhoun, LA; Myra Mize and Shawn Hughes of Monroe, LA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Michael Irvin, Justin Irvin, Danny Black, James McLock, Jerry Kerrigan, and Steve Plag. Alternate pallbearers will be David Trichell and Terry Hattaway. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark London, Bobby Dalton, and Ray Smith.
Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 8:00PM Saturday at Mulhearn Funeral Home.
