James Douglas Godwin

Graveside Services for Mr. James Douglas Godwin, 83, of Winnsboro, LA will be held at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 18, 2016 at Hasley Cemetery with Rev. David McKeithen and Rev. James Gonzales officiating. James was born on September 26, 1932 and passed away on July 17, 2016. He was a veteran of the United States Army where he received a Purple Heart. James was also retired from the maintenance department at St. Francis Medical Center. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Godwin, parents James and Princy Mae Godwin; seven brothers; mother-in- law, Elsie Mckeithen. Survivors include his son, David Godwin and wife Kathy; his daughter, Dee G. Gibson and husband Ron; Sister, Dorothy Smith and husband Bob; grandchildren, Heather Curry, Krista Kesner and husband Brian, David Wayne Godwin, Megan Womack, Lauren Womack Parker and husband Shane, Jennifer Nelson and husband Gordy, Caleb Johnson, and Joy Mitchell and husband Andre; brothers - in- law Rev. David Mckeithen and wife Linda, J.O. Mckeithen and wife Johnnie, ten great grandchildren and numerous, nieces and nephews.
