James 'Eddie' Hunter

June 23, 1958 — September 26, 2014

Eddie, 56, went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2014. He was born in Monroe, LA on June 23, 1958 and was member of Rowland Rd Baptist Church. He grew up active in fishing, hunting, baseball, football, weight lifting, water skiing, and ROTC. He graduated from OPHS receiving Best Defensive Lineman 1975-76. He moved to TX to pursue a welding career and later came back to begin his vinyl siding business. He then went to Graphic Packaging where he just completed his 20th year of dedicated service. Eddie loved bow hunting & was involved in Archery competitions from 1991-1996 placing 1st numerous times in various divisions and invitations including Downsville Archers, Tupawek Bowmen, Broken Arrow Archery Club, Lightning Bolt Archers Pro, Indian Creek Bow Club, and Brush Top Archery. He soon discovered another passion, DUCKS! He was a member of Ducks Unlimited, trained Maggie & Duke, his Labrador retrievers, whom he also leaves behind, and experienced many happy years of great duck hunting with his good friends. Some would say he was duck crazy and he was! Eddie excelled in every endeavor he ever pursued. James Edwin Hunter is preceded in death by his father Edwin Loron Hunter and sister Lori Lynn McDaniels. He is survived by mother Jo Eileen Hunter, sister Karen Hunter Hall & husband Byron “Paco” Hall, brother-in-law Mark McDaniels & niece Kera Nicole Hunter, along with several aunts, uncles, & cousins.“The Lord is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”Visitation will be from 5-8 pm, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Mulhearn 165 and Services will be at 2 pm, Friday, October 3, 2014 at Rowland Rd Baptist Church.
