Funeral Services for Mr. James “Jimmy” Melvin Bonnett, 59, of West Monroe, LA will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 21, 2008 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe with Dr. Greg Clark and Rev. George Bonner officiating. Burial to follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
Mr. Bonnett was born April 24, 1948 to Randolph Bonnett, Jr. and Ovenia C. Williams Bonnett in West Monroe, LA and passed away on March 19, 2008 at Glenwood Regional Medical Center. He was raised in the Ouachita Parish Community. He retired from A & P Grocery Store. He was a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House. He was a member of the Monroe Jaycee’s. He was a member of Cedar Crest Baptist Church.
Mr. Bonnett was preceded in death by his father, Randolph Bonnett, Jr., and brother, Jesse Melton Bonnett.
James is survived by his mother, Ovenia Bonnett; brother, Alton M. Bonnett; sister, Linda D. Lambert; sister-in-law, Shirley Bonnett; and fourteen nieces and eleven nephews.
Visitation will be from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA.
James was a man that had a great character and loved volunteering to help anyone in need. He was had a heart of gold. He will be missed by all whom knew him.
