Funeral services for James W. “Biggie” Moore, 74, of West Monroe, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 20, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, with Rev. Terry Love officiating. Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Mr. Moore was born on January 4, 1936 in Monroe, LA and passed away on Saturday, September 18, 2010, in Monroe, LA. He was a lifelong resident of Ouachita Parish and before retirement he was actively involved in the agricultural community as a farmer and fertilizer and chemical dealer. He was the former owner of Red Barn Chemical Co. Mr. Moore enjoyed lasting memories and relationships as an avid LSU supporter.
Mr. Moore was preceded in death by his father, James A. “Jamie” Moore; and his mother, Anna Mae Hearn Hutts.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra J. Moore; daughter, Debbie Cummins; sons, Danny Moore and wife Paige, and Scott Moore; sister, Jan Moore Lewis; step-son, Jay Gathright and wife Wendi; and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jason Lewis, Gary A. Smith, Harvey Nobles, David Gilly, Marion D. “Spec” Lewis, and Kevin Hurley.
Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.
Memorials may be made to the Monroe Animal Shelter.
