Jean Carter Riddle, age 88, was born in Gibsland, LA on February 1, 1922. Surrounded by her loving family, Jean passed from this life on Thursday, April 29, 2010.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.P. and Tommy May New Carter, a son, Bobby Ray and sister, Dorothy Lawler.
Jean is survived by her loving husband David, two daughters, Brenda Combs and Sandra Snapp and one sister, Bettye Taylor. She has four grandchildren, Jared Riddle, Travis Snapp, Melissa Allen, and Jessica Brooks and four great grandchildren, Owen and Marlee Riddle and Michael and Megan Allen as well as several nieces and nephews.
After moving to Monroe, Jean attended Georgia Tucker, Neville High, NE Louisiana University and BMI Business School. She met and married David Riddle and their marriage lasted 68 years with 21 of those as a military family.
Jean was and has always been a loving caring mother who was forever there for her family and her children.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 11:00 am at Mulhearn Funeral Chapel in Monroe, LA. with graveside to follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, 623 Hwy 80 East, Monroe, LA.
Contributions can be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children Home and/or Partners in Care Hospice of Bend, OR.
Dr. Alan Miller of First Baptist Church in Monroe will conduct the service.
