An informal Celebration of Life for Mrs. Jennifer Marie Borquist, 48, of Downsville, LA, will be held from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 16, 2021 at the Barak Shrine in Monroe, LA. Attendees are requested to wear masks and practice social distancing.
Jennifer was born on March 12, 1972 and passed away peacefully in her sleep at home with her family on December 29, 2020 following a hard-fought battle with cancer during which she rarely complained.
She had an adventurous spirit and was a hard- worker with creative ideas and self-taught skills. Jen was dependable, friendly towards everyone, thoughtful and generous; she could inspire laughter, even in stressful situations or unexpected changes, giving rise to an early motto, “Keep Your Shoes On.”
Jennifer is preceded in death by her father, David Arthur Wiens.
She is survived by her husband, Karl Borquist; her daughter, Abigale Lewis; her two sons, Brandon Stiles and Mack Borquist; her mother, Mary Sitton Wiens Davis and stepfather, Billy G. Davis; siblings, Janelle Wiens Bower and Nathan Wiens; half-siblings, David, Kathy, and Jim Wiens; and also, aunts, uncles, several nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends.
The family would like to thank the competent and caring oncology staff at Oschner Medical Center, followed by the Louisiana Hospice for their prompt and supportive services. We would also like to express our appreciation to members of the Barak Shrine where Jennifer worked as Administrative Assistant and Event Cordinator for the last six years. They accommodated a flexible work schedule allowing her to work as long as she was physically able and surrounded her with care and support.
She loved and was loved by many in return.
