Jerry was born on November 14,1933, and changed his address to Heaven on Saturday, January 4, 2020. Jerry had viewed this new home for many years, and he spent each day sharing the word of Jesus so that when he was met at the door by Jesus, he would have no regrets. Telling others about his God was a daily mission for Jerry. He believed in the Bible and wanted to share scriptures and pray at any time. It was not unusual for Jerry to stop and pray with friends or strangers in any given place. He wanted everyone to accept the love of his savior.

Jerry served in the United States Army and the United States Air Force. He was very proud of his country and prayed daily for the leaders. Education was important to Jerry. His formal education consisted of NLU BA, Baptist Christian MA, Southwestern Seminary MA, Liberty University MA, and San Antonio Theological Seminary MA. Jerry also studied Geology and loved to find unusual rocks and share their official names and where they came from.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Enos Fleming and Eunice Fleming; two brothers, June Fleming and Geroid Fleming; one sister, Lela Fleming Bonner.

Survivors are his beloved wife of 61 years, Carolyn Hankins Fleming; son, Samuel Mark Fleming and wife Lataine; daughter Amy Fleming Pilcher and husband Chris; grandson Austin Fleming; granddaughter, Libby Fontenot; sister, Ottomese Fleming Tanner; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Jerry pastored at churches in Oklahoma and Louisiana. He loved his Lord Jesus and could not understand everyone not loving and following the Lord. He shared his love for his country, his family, and his Lord anytime he could. He was a true soul winner and prayer warrior. We will miss him but know without a doubt that we will see him again. Well done thy good and faithful servant.

Memorials may be made in Jerry’s name to Gospel Nuggets, a ministry very dear to him and Carolyn, 6241 Jonesboro Road, West Monroe, LA 71292, or a church or charity of your choice.
