Services for Geraldine (Jerry) Moore Rasberry, 83, of Lafayette, LA, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, March 28, 2010, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe, LA with Rev. Bob Clanton officiating. Interment will be in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Rasberry, a former employee of Fields Department Store for over 30 years, passed away March 24, 2010 due to complications from cancer. She enjoyed getting together and cooking for her family. Even though in later months it was difficult, she enjoyed going to the camp and watching her family catching fish off the pier. Mom will be remembered as a loving mother and a strong individual who overcame many challenges.

Mrs. Rasberry was preceded in death by her first husband, H. Garland Moore; second husband, William (Bill) Rasberry; one sister, Opal Birch; and three brothers, J. L. Woodward, Emory Woodward, and Johnny Joe Woodward.

Survivors include her sons, Greg Moore of San Diego, CA, and David Moore and wife Bonnie of Monroe, LA; daughter, Janice Byrd and husband Richard of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Kristin Amaro and husband Mike, Stephen Moore, Jeremy Moore and wife Misty, Ashley Felts and husband Stan, Robyn Kindrix and husband P. J., and Malinda Campbell and husband Philip; and eight great grandchildren.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 27, 2010, from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Mulhearn Funeral Home, Sterlington Road, Monroe.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Courtyard Manor Nurse Care Center, Dr. Bradley Chastant and his staff, and Hospice of Acadiana for their loving care of our mom. We would like to extend a special thank you to Ms. Chris Duplechain, caregiver for Mom who faithfully attended to mom’s needs during a difficult time.
