Jesse Jefferson Griggs

Funeral services celebrating the life of Jesse Jefferson Griggs, age 77, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, May 27, 2016 in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home in West Monroe, LA with Reverend Betty Swanson officiating. Interment will follow in Zoar Cemetery, Chatham, LA. Jesse was born on February 19, 1939 in the Zoar Community of Chatham, LA, and went home to be with The Lord on May 22, 2016.Jesse is preceded in death by his daughter, Beverly Griggs; parents, Sidney and Elva Griggs; brothers: William, Richard and Harold Griggs. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Reva Mayes Griggs; two granddaughters, Wendy Allen (Jeff), and Melissa Catching; three great grandchildren, Logan Allen, Ryan & Emily Catching; seven nieces and two nephews, and a host of friends.Pallbearers will be Jeff Allen, Shane Mayes, Ralph Edwards, Lloyd Waldroup, Michael Coker and Alan McGaughy.Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. until service time on Friday at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe, LA.
