Jettie Pearl Stevens
A Celebration of Life for Mrs. Jettie Pearl Stevens, 91, of Monroe, LA, 3:00 PM Monday, June 7, 2021, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, Monroe, with Rev. Warren Eckhardt officiating. Private Interment will follow at Riverview Cemetery.
Mrs. Stevens was born October 31, 1929, and went to be with her Lord and Savior on June 3, 2021. She married Ray Stevens in 1948 and they spent 45 years together until his death in 1993. Mrs. Stevens was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, crocheting, cooking, and baby sitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mrs. Stevens was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. She retired from S.H. Kress Store after 15 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Celia Purdy; two daughters, Margaret Jewel Stevens and Janice Stevens Pylant; and brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughter, Betty Jean Gowan (Gary); son, Rocky Stevens (Beth); 10 grandchildren, Bubba, Sabrina, Shannon, Tracy, Cheri, Desiree, Megan, Byron, Mikey, and Annie; 11 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Dorothy Desadier and Shirley Purdy; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Gowan, Don Newcomer, Nicholas Newcomer, Byron Stevens, Daylyn Gowan, and Scott Betz.
