Jimmy Edward SmithMulhearn Funeral HomeWest Monroe, LA Graveside Services for Jimmy Edward Smith, 52, of West Monroe, LA will be held 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at Kilpatrick Serenity Gardens Cemetery in West Monroe, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Jimmy was born September 29, 1962 and passed away April 22, 2015. In his recent few years, Jim defended the Gospel with every turn. Often convincing many an Atheists that there is a God, who created us. One of his arguments was “how can you be mad at or talk about God, when you don’t believe there is One?” or his favorite “Atheism is a religion in itself, seeking to draw in others.” Jim spent many days and nights reflecting on the mysteries of the universe. He gave to anyone who needed anything. Jim loved, yet he never believed how many loved him. He was not a joiner and very much a loner but he will be missed by all of his family. He was preceded in death by his sister, Karla Charles; and grandparents, Joe and Tressie Murray. Survivors include his mother, Verda Gates and husband Walter of West Monroe; father, Jimmy A. Smith and wife Ruth of Gig Harbor, WA; grandmother, Virgie Smith of Edmond, OK; sister, Kathy Smith of Gig Harbor, WA; brothers, Kim G. Smith and wife Gloria, and Justin Daniel, both of West Monroe; nephews, Toney “Trey” L. Charles, III and wife Kristin, T.J. Charles, Kason Charles, Tristan Camp, Syrus Harp, and Pace Harp; and nieces, Chassidy Camp, Rebecca Smith, Aleesa Harp and husband Tanner, Heather Smith, Robin Smith, Rylee Daniel, Madison Graham, and Callie Smith. Visitation will be held from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Monday, April 27, 2015 at Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. He planted God seeds while alive (in most unusual ways) but instead of flowers please give to the Louisiana Baptist Children’s Home in Monroe, LA in Jim’s honor.
