John "Johnny" Patrick Cascio

Funeral service for Mr. John Patrick “Johnny" Cascio, 65, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Saturday, August 13, 2022, at St. Matthew Catholic Church with Rev. Joe Martina officiating. Interment will follow in Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM with a Vigil Wake Service at 6:00PM Friday, August 12, 2022, at Mulhearn Funeral Home.

Johnny was born on September 1, 1956, in Monroe and passed away on August 9, 2022, in Monroe. He was a strong Christian with unwavering faith. He attended mass at St Matthew Catholic Church when he was still able. Johnny was an avid outdoorsman- he loved duck hunting, fishing, and gardening. The things that brought him the most joy were spending time with his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Johnny was a man that never met a stranger and he could always start up a conversation with anyone, anywhere. He also loved to joke around and be the life of the party.
He was preceded in death by his parents, LV and Despena Cascio.

Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Thomas (Mike); two sons, Jonathan Cade Cascio and Connor Cascio (Kristan); grandchildren, Maddie, Luke, and Owen Thomas; and his siblings, Freddie Cascio, Steve Cascio, Queenie Cascio, Rosie Cascio, and Mary Lynn Cascio.

Pallbearers will be John Vanveckhoven, Sonny Bordelon, Pat Smith, Gray Stephens, Michael Stephens, Mark Posey, John Holmes and Doug Wood.

The family would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Avalon, along with all the doctors, nurses, and therapists that have helped him along the way.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
