John Joseph "Johnny" Danna, Sr.

Funeral service for Mr. John Joseph “Johnny” Danna Sr., 93, of Monroe, LA, will be held at 10:00AM Monday, June 14, 2021, at Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church with Rev. Mike Thang’wa, Deacon Scott Brandle, and Deacon Tom Deal officiating. Interment will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home Sterlington Rd. Monroe. Visitation will be from 5:00PM until 7:00PM with a Vigil Wake service at 6:00PM Sunday, June 13, 2021, at the funeral home.
Mr. Danna was born on August 18, 1927, in West Monroe and passed away on June 9, 2021, in Monroe. He was a member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Mr. Danna was an avid fisherman and enjoyed his fishing trips to Lake Bruin. He cherished his five children and loved spending time with them and all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mr. Danna was preceded in death by his seven brothers, two sisters, and grandson, Brian Patrick Young.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 72 years, Frances Onebane Danna; children, Anthony J. Danna and wife Nancy, Philip P. Danna and wife Terri, Mary Danna Young and husband, Ralph, Cathy Danna Brothers and husband Lane, and John J. Danna, Jr. and wife Cheryl; ten grandchildren; and sixteen great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Philip P. Danna, Jr., Russell J. Danna, Jason S. Young, Kyle L. Brothers, Bobby B. Parnell, and Corey Taylor. Honorary pallbearer will be Matt Varnadore.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or to the charity of your choice.
