Joseph Gilbert Bruscato

April 13, 1937 — December 22, 2020

Joseph “Joe” G. Bruscato was born on April 13, 1937 in Monroe, Louisiana, and sadly passed away on December 22, 2020 at the age of 83. Funeral mass will be held at 2 P.M. Monday, December 28, 2020 at Our Lady Of Fatima Catholic Church, with Father Paul Thunduparampil officiating. Burial will follow at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Mulhearn funeral home.
Joe was a loving husband of 61 years to Barbara Quarles Bruscato. They could often be found in the kitchen as he teased her while she cooked spaghetti. Joe had seven children with Barbara: Angela, Jody, Laurie, Jana, Scott, Bridgette, and Brandon, all to whom he played the role of remarkable father, coach, mentor, and friend. Joe was always quick with a smile and a joke to tease his many grandchildren.
Many people loved and respected Joe in the professional field. He worked diligently for Twin City Glass for 51 years and for Acme Glass and Mirror for an additional 7 years. Joe loved working hand in hand with clients to make sure every need was met.
His passion for work came only second to his passion for his family. A lifetime member of the Monroe Youth Baseball Association, he began coaching youth sports in the 1960’s. Over the next 30 plus years, he touched more lives and won more championships than could ever be mentioned! He never missed his children or grandchildrens’ events, between baseball, basketball, soccer, dance recitals, volleyball, cross country, and football. From Myrtle Beach to Dallas to the Superdome to Natchez he was there in the stands, always supporting his children and grandchildren.
Joe was also a Medical Service Specialist in the Air Force based in Goose Bay Harbor. He is survived by his loving stepmother, Angeline Bruscato; incredible wife, Barbara; daughter, Angela Clampit and husband Joe; son, Jody and wife Melinda; daughter, Laurie Bruscato; daughter, Jana Chowns; son, Scott and wife Lori; daughter, Bridgette Moore and husband David; son, Brandon and wife Susan, 20 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.
Honoring Joe as pallbearers will be his 7 grandsons: John Paul Bruscato, Garryn Chowns, Braden Bruscato, Jacob Moore, Easton Bruscato, Leighton Bruscato, and Joseph Bruscato.
